Collection of detailed patient anamnesis, patient examination, collection of the individual’s expectations, information about the procedure, photographing before the procedure, and evaluation of the results after the procedure are performed. No tests are required. Specifically, it is necessary to clearly assess the symptom(s) of aging in the hands.

Any type of anesthesia is not required. Filling may be performed with fat or prepared fillers. Moisturizing is ensured by Hydrate (purified hyaluronic acid) injection. Spot treatment is usually performed by using laser systems.

Fat fillers should be utilized under special operating room setting. Fat taken from the region with excess fat is injected on the hands. The procedure may be performed under local anesthesia and takes about 30-60 minutes. Although the durability may change, 40-50% of the fat administered is permanent.  In repetitive procedures, the need for filler is reduced.

Prepared fillers may be used under office settings. They do not require anesthesia; there would be minimal pain due to the local anesthetics contained. Hyaluronic acid is used which is persistent for 6 months to 1 year. It is also possible to provide increased collagen connective tissue in patients with significant vascularity using some special fillers. Both the filling effect and connective tissue production are ensured.

Approximately 30-60 minutes later, hands can be washed and one may return to daily activities. Swelling and bruises may occur on the hands and resolve within 24-48 hours. Sun protection and moisturizers are recommended.
