TREATMENT OF CAPILLARY

Capillary varicose veins are the spider veins that usually develop in the legs in women and are easily visible through the skin. They usually do not indicate a serious disease, but pose a cosmetic problem. They do not cause any additional problem and their incidence is increased with aging. They are increased by some factors, such as history of pregnancy, weight gain, standing for long hours, as well as genetic predisposition.

Treatment options include intravenous substance injections called sclerotherapy, laser or broad-spectrum light applications.

It is the method in which sclerosing agents, i.e. substances that cause intravenous coagulation, are injected intravenously. These agents are injected by very thin needles into the predetermined veins. Afterwards, elastic bandage is applied on the respective area to avoid distribution. No anesthesia is required. It takes 10-20 minutes under office settings. More than one session may be required based on the individual need.

People using blood thinners or who are pregnant are not eligible. The procedure can be performed in any season. Redness or bruises may occur in the localized injection site. It is a safe procedure without any anticipated side effects.

The appropriate light or laser beams are shot to the localized vein area. The procedure is performed without anesthesia in 5 minutes under office settings. More than one session may be required.
