PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)

Platelet is a type of blood cell. Platelets induce clotting to prevent blood flow from inside to outside the vein when a trauma occurs on the vein surface. They arrive at the damaged area and release several growth factors. They both stop blood flow and activate healing.

A blood sample of 8-20cc is collected into special tubes and centrifuged. Blood elements are stratified as per their content. The portion rich in platelets is taken into another system and made ready for use for the patient. Two- to four-fold intenser cells than normal blood are obtained.

Intradermal administration acts by increasing collagen production and revascularization. It eliminates the thin lines on the skin and makes the skin bright, flexible and vivid.

It also helps the skin heal more quickly in skin damages caused by sunlight, UV, laser or peeling.

It is also used to prevent hair loss and make the hair stronger and thicker.

It is applied on the problematic areas. The most common areas of application in the plastic surgery include Face, Neck, Upper Chest, Hands, and Scalp.

The rich plasma obtained may be administered into skin using microinjection methods, as in the mesotherapy, or over the skin by the help of dermarolls (a roll with multiple micro-needles).

A blood sample of approximately 10-20cc is collected. The amount of blood is directly proportionate to the respective surface area. The plasma obtained after centrifuge is administered in the desired area using the preferred method. No anesthesia is required. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes.

It is recommended to avoid washing the face, putting on makeup, massaging, bending down and lying for 2-3 hours after the procedure. One may get to work immediately. It takes action in a short period. However, lasting results are yielded after repeated administration.

No side effect is anticipated as the individual’s own blood is used. Only injection-related redness and bruises may occur.

To obtain an effective result, at least 3 sessions are required, 2-3 weeks apart. Afterwards, the results become lasting with administrations once every six months.

It is a supportive therapy for a successful, effective and lasting skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. For hair applications, it is a satisfying solution that is used after hair transplantation and for preventing hair loss.
