Definition of Abdominal Muscles

One of the areas where there is often stubborn fat is the abdomen. There is a fat layer in front of the abdominal muscles and this fat layer prevents the visibility of the abdominal muscles. It is a suitable surgical method for patients who do sports and whose abdominal muscles are prominent, but are only covered with regional fat. As the superficial fat layer and the deep fat layer are reduced in some areas, the underlying abdominal muscles become more easily visible. The surgery is mostly performed with VASER liposuction using ultrasound energy.

Surgery

Under general anesthesia, the necessary procedures are performed to obtain a natural appearance in 1 to 2 hours. Cannulas enter through 0.5 cm incisions corresponding to the convolutions close to the areas where fat removal will be performed. A special fluid is injected under the skin through these holes for pain control. After waiting for a certain period of time, the fats are broken down with energy-based devices and the broken-down fats are extracted from the same places. No drain is placed. It can be applied to more than one body area. A special corset is worn at the end of the operation.

After Surgery

Eating starts in a short time. Discharge can be planned a few hours after the operation. A special corset is used for about 3 to 4 weeks. There may be slight fluid leakage from the suture areas on the first day. Bathing is allowed 2 days after the operation. Patient can return to work after 1 week, do light exercise after 3 weeks and heavy exercise after 6 weeks. Bruising and swelling may be seen in the operation areas, which takes an average of 2 to 3 weeks to heal. Full recovery is after 6 months to 1 year. These periods may vary according to the procedures added to fat removal procedures.
